Unfortunately, feminism has delivered some pretty negative outcomes, as well as many positive ones.
Over the years the rate of attempted suicides has been approximately equal between males and females. The rate of death from suicide for males is 4-5 times higher than females. Why? Well one reason is the method used. Females have traditionally used "softer" methods when attempting suicide, drug overdose, slit wrists etc, allowing for intervention and remedial counselling. Males on the other hand tend to use more immediate methods, guns, when available, jumping to their death, hanging.
Sadly, along with embracing other things masculine, women are increasingly moving to masculine methods for attempting suicide. Shame they have chosen to take the bad as well as the good.

Posted by: Joe at June 3, 2003 04:01 AMI don't regard it as a crime so much as a tragedy. Most people who kill themselves do so because they can see no other alternative.
Most can be given the chance to reclaim their life if a caring person holds out their hand to pull them out of the emotional quagmire that they find themselves in.
People make their own choices when it comes to suicide but we can help some to move beyond this black time ... if we get the chance.

my dad dose councilling for men so i do hear the storys but ethier male or female you do need to hurt alot
attenting suicide is hard than most think i dont have a gun so i have to settle for a friggin razor i would preffer a gun.
us female tend to cut for years then start attemting suicide i myself have done so and know many others how have also done so
it is the last option and works better for guys cos their sucses rate is higher
i tend to delay with things and then settel for cutting
sad but you have to settle for whats around you at the time

I so sick of being depressed everyday of my life. The sad thing is i have no were to go to get away from it. im only 17 and i have a son. hes the best thing that ever happened to me. but i regret him. I litteraly have nothin or noone eles. No family dad dead dont know where mom is . As for the rest of my family i got no clue! I cant just up and leave cus i cant even have a place to go not 18. and my sons father doesnt help he makes mefeel like shit, worthless, replaceable, like im not worth anything at all. i have no one.i just wanna die.Usually when ur upset u have a best friend to confide in i havent had any1 for years now and everything is inside and theres no more room.When im upset this is wht i hear (shut up u ***in Cry baby. what is ur ****in problem)i know i got a problem and no 1 to help me or to confied in! GOD PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I DO SOMTHING THATS PROBALY REALLY STUIP!!!
